Had a great, cheap and quick casual breakfast as we checked out properties in the area. Nothing really to write home about but everything was average to above average, the wait staff I would actually say were exceptional however. Will not hesitate to stop there for breakfast again and consider it being nearby a selling feature to the property we looked at nearby.

This place is favorite of the local family here in Maine so it made sense to eat here with the whole family for Fathers Day - well let me tell you we had a reservation for 10am for 14 people and it took over an hour to get 5 meals. Nine people ordered off the Buffett. Very very poor service we ended up serving ourselves coffee refills. They clearly can't handle large parties. Disappointing to come from VA for this service.

Prime rib on the weekend! Can't beat that! Start with the mushrooms. I order it rare, still comes out medium to me, so order it more rare than you would. And the service is outstanding!

Only been for breakfast but a very good place for the family. Their breakfast buffet is great and has all the necessities of a great way to start the day. Service has been great every time I've been. Seating is comfortable and noise level is good for a diner.

This local favorite changed hands not long ago. I have the advantage of returning once a year, and my standard measuring tool is the lasagna. Before it changed hands I'd have given the dish 4 stars; this year it's three. The atmosphere is warm and congenial, and they've added a nice back-room full service bar area.

Stopped here for food on our way up to Acadia. Great restaurant with great breakfast staples and huge portion sizes. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. Would definitely return if I am ever in the area.

Heard a lot of hype about how good the food was here. The wife and I went for dinner a few nights ago and felt that it wasn't that great. We live about an hour away and felt that it wasn't worth the trip. The food tasted as if it was prepared frozen food from one of there suppliers. I will say that the portions were large, just didn't have that fresh homemade flavor that we expected. The service was good, but not outstanding. I suspect breakfast might be better, but after the dinner showing I can't bring myself to make the two hour round trip for mediocracy.

Close to the house we were renting, so we gave it a try. Arrived about 5:30pm, which was a good thing. The place gets busy. Our party tried the lobster dinners, the fried seafood platter, crab cakes, and vegetable lasagna, and jalapeno poppers for an appetizer. The poppers are very good, the lobster dinners were good, crab cakes were average, and the seafood platter typical fried food. The vegetable lasagna first showed up with meat in it. The second time, it was average. But I will say the restaurant did the right thing, and they comped that meal. The service was pretty good, but the waitresses seemed stretched a little thin. Overall, we would go back in a pinch but would try to find someplace else first. Also, be aware....they do not take American Express.

I've lived in Maine my whole life and had never been here before! Upon entry the place has a real friendly home town feel, and background music ads atmosphere. We were seated right away by our waitress and brought drinks immediately. I ordered a Fried chicken burger & Wife ordered a grilled cheese, both dishes came out piping hot and fresh! After our dinner we had a brownie sundae. This isn't just and sundae, this thing was huge and tasty! What makes this place so great are the fresh ingredients and the locally made ice cream! With all that said, what earns this place a 5th star was our waitress who went above and beyond to keep us happy & her positive demeanor. What this place has is chemistry and character, & that makes this place a new favorite. Keep up the good work.

They are showing a Grand Opening and it is new and spotless from the front porch to the restrooms. The clam sandwich was fresh and delicious with tarter sauce on the side. the roll was fresh and very nice. Everyone was friendly- it was an odd hour when we stopped for lunch and one other couple came in. Worth aquick stop for a lunch or breakfast- can't comment on dinner- it is a step up on fast food!

Looking for somewhere to grab a burger on the way back from the Common Ground Country Fair, we stopped at the China Dine-Ah; Maine used to have many more places like this--basic, no frills food. I had the 8 oz. cheeseburger dinner (w/ fresh cut fries and cole slaw) and my wife had the hamburger dinner. We both agreed that the meat was flavorful, cooked just right, and very hearty portions. Service prompt, and waitress exceptionally friendly. Not many places east of Augusta (not many places in Augusta, either), but if you are in the China Lake area, this is a restaurant worth stopping at.

Didn't have a good experience here. The salad was very small & the dressing was awful. The French onion soup had a bad taste. They must of used Chicken broth. The sirloin was very fatty & full of gristle.

Great if you're not in the mood to cook for the family. They offer a wide variety of foods - everything from burgers and steaks to seafood and pasta. The menu seems to cater to the 'older' crowd, but I'm noticing more often they are offering specials with some new entrees. The facility itself is beautiful and very clean, the staff is cheerful and quick. The prices are average...for a family of four we usually walk out spending at least $50 for our meals, including tip. One thing I will say is The China Dine-Ah has become a local landmark and the owner, Norm, contributes immensely to the local community. For that, I am happy to go out and support a local business that gives so much back to the town it's in. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner - each meal is a great meal.

Fantastic and much needed addition to the China Lake area. No matter the time, the Dine-ah is always packed. The establishment is clean, service is friendly and the food is reasonably priced. Highly recommend their breakfast buffett and their Monte Cristo! Dinner is wonderful too, they have large lobster rolls and a great Prime Rib dinner. Check out their daily specials on chinadine-ah.com .

This place is ok. Its certainly not the best. I got the chicken dinner and left hungry. I also thought the prices were a little steep too. I'd rather go to 99 or Red Robin...

Made the trip to South China Maine for Easter Dinner. Clasic Diner food well prepared with great size portions. Started with great coffee, and had many options to choose from. We had turkey dinner with all the fixings & seafood fettuccine alfredo. Both were done right but we really had to give it to the alfredo. Great pasta & sauce with a great deal of scallops, some lobster & shrimp. Eight properly prepared mussels. Turkey dinner was as good or better than you'd expect. We plan on a return trip with friends later this summer. Note, whenever we've diven by the parking lot is usually full & did have to wait for seating. Did do waiting list.
